Grassroots Library Advocacy Workshop

Grassroots advocates make the difference between a library that limps along and one that sprints.

Trustees, Friends and Staff who attend this workshop: learn advocacy techniques; practice developing and delivering advocacy messages; receive advice on assembling a diverse team to advocate for the library; obtain advocacy examples from other organizations in the state and/or region; and learn how to develop their own Advocacy Plan.

Georgia Council of Media Organizations (GaCOMO) – Pre-conference

“The role playing -- which I usually hate – was so relevant. I learned from others in my group.”

“The interaction between the presenters and the audience was the best part of the workshop.”

“ Using a local county library issue to focus on its needs and how to transfer to our own situation will help me to focus on how my local board and Friends can prioritize and make some progress on our needs.”

October 24, 2002
Indiana Library Federation – Pre-conference

“The information was useful and very well presented. The presenters were very easy to listen to and understand.”

“You took a daunting task and broke it down into doable parts. ‘Team’ concept takes away the fear factor of going it alone.”

“You touched on ‘real’ applicable issues and situations; while keeping us on track and on schedule.”
